This is a Pit Viper viewed in the ZBrush viewport. I made this to test out different techniques for scales and because I like the look of these deadly snakes. For the snakes body I created a tileable height map in ZBrush and I hand sculpted the scales for the head. The polypaint was just an afterthought for the eyes was 90 seconds the body of the snake probably another 90 seconds. The branch was not really the focus of the exercise I used a wood detailing brush set from Pablo Muñoz Gómez and some edited photos i shot of my Yuka plant to get something suitable for the snake to rest on. Though come to think of it I spent a bit more time painting it than the snake.
